ASME
& ISO AIR STORAGE Systems |
ASME & ISO AIR
STORAGE Systems increase the overall efficiency of a compressed breathing air
system. A properly sized air storage system allows peak demands to be met
quicker than just relying on the compressor output. Stored air can also be used
to carry on operations in the event of compressor failure, loss of power to run
a compressor, or in areas where compressors are not available.
Two types
of storage vessels, ASME and ISO, are available. ASME vessels are generally used
for permanent installations since they have a greater safety factor and do not
require periodic hydrotesting. ISO cylinders are usually better suited for
applications involving the transport of breathing air.
Storage systems
are available in horizontal or vertical configurations and with bulk or
cascade-type manifold piping. |

ASME
AIR STORAGE Systems
- Available
for working pressures of 6000+ PSI.
- Do not
require hydro-testing but must be fitted with ASME relief valve,
pressure guage, and service and drain valves.
- Ideal for
mobile applications but must be accessible for visual and relief valve
inspections.
-
Can be
installed in stationary or mobile applications.*
*
Verify installation requirements with state OSHA regulations.
ASME cylinders are required in some states. |

ISO
AIR STORAGE Systems
- Available
with 4500 or 6000 PSI cylinders.
- Cylinders
require hydro-testing every ten years.
- Principal
advantages include price and weight.
- Can be
installed in stationary or mobile applications.*
